Men's Tennis WVIAC Tournament Preview
Top Seeded Wesleyan Leads Field Into WVIAC Men's Tennis Championship
4/14/2008 (PRINCETON, W.Va.)---The pairings have been set for the April 17-19 2008 WVIAC Men's Tennis Championship.  All action takes place at the Watt Powell Annex and Coonskin Park courts in Charleston.  The victor earns a bid to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional.

West Virginia Wesleyan, the fifth ranked squad in the Great Lakes Region, rolled to the WVIAC regular season crown by notching an 8-0 league record.  The Bobcats open their quest for the title on Friday morning when they face the winner of Thursday's play-in match between Bluefield State and Salem International.

Other Friday morning quarterfinal matches include #2 Shepherd taking on #7 Fairmont State, defending champion #3 West Liberty State meets #6 West Virginia State, and #4 Concord battles #5 Charleston.

Semifinal pairings are completed on Friday evening and the league's automatic qualification spot in the NCAA Tournament is on the line in Saturday morning's 9:00 a.m. title match.

Match #2: #1 West Virginia Wesleyan (17-3, 8-0) vs. Match #1 winner 9:00 a.m. (Coonskin Park)
Match #3: #4 Concord (9-7, 6-2) vs. #5 Charleston (9-10, 4-4) 9:00 a.m. (Watt Powell Annex)
Match #4: #3 West Liberty State (14-5, 7-2) vs. #6 West Virginia State (3-10, 3-6) 11:30 a.m. (Coonskin Park)
Match #5: #2 Shepherd (12-5, 5-1) vs. #7 Fairmont State (3-5, 2-5) 11:30 a.m. (Watt Powell Annex)
Match #6: Winner of Match #2 vs. Winner of Match #3 2:00 p.m. (Watt Powell Annex)
