Jackets' Bower in State Am Golf Hunt
Yellow Jacket fans are well aware of senior Josh Bower's baseball prowess.
A few probably even realized the former Winfield High star was on the golf team this past year.
Well this week Bower has shown he can be just as much a threat on the links as the diamond as he headed into Thursday's final round of the 90th Annual West Virginia State Amateur golf tournament at the Greenbrier in eighth place a mere five shots off the lead.
Bower hit .293 and made the Rawlings Atlantic Region Gold Glove First Team as a shortstop this past season with a .960 fielding percentage.
Actually he has a history of being a star in both sports.
In 2004 he led WInfield to its first ever Class AA state high school championship in golf in the fall shooting a team best final round 83.
When the 2005 baseball season rolled around Bower broke the Generals' school record for stolen bases with 55 and was a first team All-State selection.
