W.Va. State receives $15 million for Fleming Hall

by Jack Bogaczyk
Sports Editor, Charleston Daily Mail
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Good things come to those who wait ... or so it seems to the athletic staffers at West Virginia State University.
"We're as excited as we can be," WVSU interim Athletic Director Sean Loyd said Sunday. "I'm anxious for the next two or three weeks, because they're going to be very big for us."
That's because sooner than later, State will - finally - begin to make concrete plans for the renovation of Fleming Hall, which has housed Yellow Jacket athletic offices and its venerable gymnasium since its opening in 1941.
Last Thursday, the state Economic Development Authority authorized bonds to pay for 37 capital improvement projects. Included in that $160 million package was $15 million for the renovation and expansion of Fleming Hall.

Men Win Shootout at Concord 119-113

Saturday evening in Athens Concord tried to run-and-gun with the Yellow Jackets and paid the price in spite of the Mountain Lions having their best offensive night of the season.

Concord posted season highs in points, field-goal shooting (.700), three-point shooting (.684), and assists (21), but WVSU still prevailed 119-113.
