The Yellow Jackets took both ends of a doubleheader from visiting Bluefield State Wednesday.

Both games were called in the fifth innings as WVSU won the opener 16-0 and game two 13-0.

Brittany Hyatt blasted a two-run home run over the left field fence and later knocked in another run with a triple while Alana Weyant added a three-run home run in the opener.

Kayla Sturms and Mattie Best each drove in a pair of runs in the nightcap.

   Shayla Ownes alloed just one hit in three innings of work to win game one. Sara Pelegreen fanned five and gave up just three hist in three innings in game two for the victory. Jade Weinfauf tossed two strong innings of relief in each game striking out eight total.
