This year's WVSU softball team has yet to win a ballgame that counts on the field but where it counts the most, in the classroom, this group of Yellow Jackets have already proven to be winners.

    "They are the most intelligent kids I have ever had," softball Coach Bob Allen said "It is very easy to coach these girls, their priorities are where they should be."

     Final fall semester grades show six of the squad's 19 players have a perfect 4.0 grade point average and the team as a whole sports a 3.42 average.
 

     "It is nice not to have to have study halls or worry about kids being eligible to play," Allen said. "I am extremely proud of the girls and I believe they are going to be an excellent softball team this year."
